Otago Anniversary Day

Monday, 21 March 2016

Our office will be closed to observe Otago Anniversary Day.
We’ll be back on deck and open for business on Tuesday.

Did You Know?

Otago Anniversary Day is actually on the 23rd of March. But most celebrate it on the first closest Monday; this year Monday the 21st March.

In 1848 the John Wickliffe, the first of two sailing ships chartered by the Lay Association of the Free Church of Scotland to bring settlers to Otago, dropped anchor at Koputai (Port Chalmers).
